Ion Exchange Processes
Ion exchange systems are treatment processes used to remove unwanted ions and contaminants from water by exchanging them with desirable ions. The system typically consists of ion exchange vessels filled with resin beads. The vessel and internal configuration are based on the industry and application.
Ion exchange systems are widely used in various applications, including water softening, deionization, and the removal of specific compounds, making them essential for producing high-quality water in both industrial and residential settings. After a certain period, the resin becomes saturated with unwanted ions and needs to be regenerated. Aquaplan designs IX vessels with the capability for in situ- regenerations. The Regeneration Systems (Acid and Caustic) are designed in parallel to the Ion Exchange System to ensure the solution is site specific.
Aquaplan also offers Mobile Regeneration Systems that can service existing Demineralization Systems. The skid mounted equipment minimises on site fabrication as manufacturing takes place at the Aquaplan Workshop.
